Naturally Occurring Retirement Community Social Service Programs (NORC programs) and Villages focus on strengthening community-based systems to support aging in place. This study examined data from a national survey of NORC program and Village leaders on participant diversity. Villages and NORC Programs are serving a majority of white participants on average. Initiatives implemented in urban locations, and with more full-time staff, reported greater proportions of non-White participants. Lesser reliance on membership dues was associated with a greater percent of lower-income participants. Respondents identified participants of color and younger older adults as groups they seek to engage more fully. // (2017)
